Clásico Bogotano
Clásico bogotano (German Derby of Bogotá ), also known as Clásico capitalino (German capital derby ), is the Spanish name for the city derby between the football clubs Independiente Santa Fe and Millonarios FC from Bogotá , the capital of Colombia . Both clubs are among the founding members of the first division, of which only these two and one other club from the very beginning have participated in all seasons. Thus the Clásico Bogotano is the most common city derby in the top division of Colombia .
history
Although Millonarios FC has only existed under its current name since 1946, its origins go back to 1937. City rivals Independiente Santa Fe was founded in 1941. The first derby was played in 1942 and ended with a 4-1 victory for the Millonarios. The first official derby in the newly created, national Categoría Primera A was won by Santa Fe in 1948 5-3.
Although both clubs share the Estadio Nemesio Camacho ("El Campín"), the Millonarios represent the more affluent north of the city and local rival Independiente Santa Fe, the "darling of the masses", represents the rougher south of Bogotá. The differences between the two fan groups are also noticeable in political actions: while the fans of Santa Fe fervently sing along to the national anthem at the start of the game , the fans of the Millonarios refuse to participate and instead greet their team with fascist salutes.
