Tomás Eduardo Rincón Hernandez (born January 13, 1988 in San Cristóbal ) is a Venezuelan football player .

Career

In the club

Beginnings

Rincón played at Deportiva Monseñor Arias Blanco, a football school in his native city. His mother passed away when he was 14 years old. At the age of 16 he went to Unión Atlético Maracaibo , for whom he made his debut in the B team in 2006. His coach at the time was Carlos Maldonado . In January 2007 he moved to the then coached by Darío Martínez Zamora FC and in July 2008 to Deportivo Táchira .

Hamburger SV

Rincón during his time at HSV (2013)

In January 2009, Rincón initially moved to Hamburger SV on loan . On February 20, 2009 he was granted the right to play in the Bundesliga . In the first six months, however, he did not play a competitive game and, according to his own statement, was particularly busy adapting to the new, unfamiliar living conditions in Germany. In the following period, according to Rincón, the Brazilian Zé Roberto, who joined the Hamburg squad for the 2009/10 season, was his greatest integration aid. In the course of his career at HSV, Rincón also learned the German language. In December 2009 he signed a contract with HSV that began on January 1, 2010 and ran until June 30, 2014. For the 2011/12 Bundesliga season, HSV mainly relied on young players. Therefore, Rincón got the chance of a regular place in the HSV midfield on the so-called "double six", but could not use this chance in the long term.

In August 2013, Rincón and his teammate Dennis Aogo were suspended from HSV for a game after they had both used two days off for a trip to Mallorca after a 5-1 home defeat against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim .

Change to Italy

After the season Rincón left the club after his contract expired and joined the Italian first division club CFC Genoa for the 2014/15 season . For Genoa, he played a total of 78 league games and scored three goals.

At the beginning of January 2017, Rincón moved to Juventus Turin . He received a contract valid until June 30, 2020 and cost eight million euros, which can increase by one million euros. According to press reports, the contractual arrangement initially includes a six-month loan deal including a mandatory purchase option clause. Rincón is the first Venezuelan football player in the history of the Turin club. On May 17, 2017, he won the Coppa Italia with Juventus Turin .

For the 2017/18 season , Rincón initially moved to city rivals FC Turin for three million euros on loan . For a certain number of missions, FC Turin was obliged to acquire the transfer rights to Rincón for six million euros. This occurred at the beginning of February 2018 after Rincón made 22 Serie A and two Coppa Italia appearances.

In the national team

Rincón played in the youth national teams from the age of 15. He took part with the U-17 selection at the U-17 South American Championship 2005 in Venezuela and with the U-20 of Venezuela at the U-20 South American Championship 2007 in Paraguay . In 2008 he made his debut under national coach César Farías in the Venezuelan senior team and quickly became a regular. In July 2011 he was appointed to the national team for the 2011 Copa América . Despite being sent off twice, he made a significant contribution to Venezuela's good performance (fourth place) and was voted the best player in the Copa. In the course of a friendly against the selection of Japan on November 16, 2018, Rincón scored his first goal for Venezuela with a penalty.

On October 14, 2019, he played his 100th international match in the friendly against Trinidad and Tobago .
