Cristian Daniel Ansaldi (born September 20, 1986 in Rosario ) is an Argentine football player .

Club career

Ansaldi began his career at the age of seven in the youth department of Newell's Old Boys , where he played with Lionel Messi in a youth team. In 2005 he made the leap into the professional squad, where he was only used sporadically. The former Old Boys trainer Paul Marini , known for his superstition, justified the fact that the young talent was often not taken into account with the fact that Ansaldi was a "mufa", a player who was unlucky. Because, according to Marini, Newell had to take a few defeats while playing despite the appealing performances from Ansaldi.

It was only when Marini had to vacate his coaching chair in 2007 that Ansaldi earned himself a regular place and made a name for himself as a result, above all for his strong offensive urge for a defender.

In January 2008, he moved to Russia to Rubin Kazan , where he was supposed to replace the Brazilian defensive routineer Calisto, who had previously migrated back home . Ansaldi convinced immediately and immediately received a regular place in the line-up of the Russian top team. In his first year he was allowed to celebrate winning the championship title in the Premjer League , the first championship title in the history of Kazan. At the end of the season, Ansaldi scored an important goal in a 3-0 win against Krylja Sowetow Samara . He was also voted into the 2008 season team by some Russian newspapers.

In the 2009 season he played with Rubin in the Champions League and again won the Russian championship. Ansaldi moved to Zenit Saint Petersburg for around 10 million euros .

For the 2014/15 season Ansaldi moved on loan to the Spanish Primera División to Atlético Madrid . After another loan from CFC Genoa , Ansaldi moved to Inter Milan in the summer of 2016 .

In the summer of 2017, Ansaldi was awarded to FC Turin .

National team

In 2008 Ansaldi was called up for the first time in the Argentine U-23 national team. He made his debut on January 6, 2008 in a friendly against the national team of Guatemala , which was won 5-0. On March 24, 2008 he came against the unofficial Catalan national football team for another use. The friendly games are seen by Argentina as preparation for the Olympic Games. Argentina also competes under the name "Argentine Olympic Selection".

In the Argentine national football team , he has so far only been used in a friendly against Spain. Ansaldi is in the current squad of the Argentina national team for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
