Simone Zaza [siˈmoːne ˈdzaddza] (born June 25, 1991 in Policoro ) is an Italian football player who acts in the storm . He is currently under contract with FC Turin .

Career

society

Simone Zaza came from a small association in his home region of Basilicata to the youth academy of Atalanta Bergamo , which he attended until 2010. He also came to the professional team to two missions before moving to Sampdoria Genoa . There he played one more year as a youth and three times for the professionals. After several loan deals, including to SS Juve Stabia , FC Esperia Viareggio and Ascoli Calcio , he made his breakthrough. Zaza scored a total of 18 goals for Ascoli in 35 league games, but they were relegated from Serie B. After this good season , in which he was sixth on the scorers list, Juventus Turin acquired half of the transfer rights to him, the other half of which was secured by the US Sassuolo Calcio , for the Zaza in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons in the series A ran up.

For the 2015/16 season , Sassuolo Calcio initially secured the complete transfer rights for EUR 7.5 million, as the Italian participation model had been abolished. On July 8th, Zaza was sold to Juventus for 18 million euros.

In August 2016, Zaza moved to the English club West Ham United in the Premier League on loan . After eight Premier League appearances without scoring his own, he moved to the Spanish Primera División for Valencia CF on January 15, 2017, initially on loan . After Zaza had scored three goals in 14 league games, the firm commitment was announced in April 2017.

In August 2018 it was awarded to Turin FC in Italy .

National team

Zaza ran a total of six times for Italian youth national teams in 2007 and 2009. At the end of August 2014, Zaza was nominated by Antonio Conte for the friendly against the Netherlands on September 4th and the European Championship qualifier against Norway on September 9th. He made his debut for the Squadra Azzurra against the Netherlands, and scored his first goal in the following game against Norway. In May 2016, Zaza was finally nominated by Conte for the 23-man squad with which Italy took part in the 2016 European Football Championship in France.

Zaza was used in two preliminary round matches at the EM 2016. Against Sweden, he came on in the final third and then gave the template for the 1-0 winner. Against Ireland he played for the full season. In the quarter-final against Germany , he was substituted on for the upcoming penalty shoot-out in the last minute of extra time. He then went on as the second striker of the Italian team, but shot the ball over the gate. Italy lost the game in the end due to four missed shots (the German team missed three penalties) and were eliminated from the tournament. Above all, Zaza's miss generated a lot of feedback on the Internet after the game, as the player not only came on specifically for the penalty shoot-out, but also started in a noticeably prancing step during the penalty shoot-out. After two more appearances, Zaza did not play for Italy for almost two years. In October 2018 he was used by Roberto Mancini in two more games and scored his second international goal again against the Netherlands. Since then, however, Zaza has not been considered.
