Series A 2012/13

The Serie B 2012-13 was the 81st season of the second highest Italian soccer league since its prototyping 1929. As relegated from Serie A came of Cesena and Novara . The third relegated, US Lecce , had to relegate to the third- tier Lega Pro Prima Divisione due to their involvement in the Italian manipulation scandal . This allowed Vicenza Calcio to remain in Serie B, although they lost to FC Empoli in the play-offs against relegation . The US Grosseto was also determined to be relegated, but it was able to prevent this in the appeal process, so that one remained in second class for another year. The SS Virtus Lanciano , FC Pro Vercelli , Spezia Calcio and Ternana Calcio from the Lega Pro Prima Divisione were promoted to Serie B.

In the course of the manipulation and betting scandal in Italy, AS Bari received seven points, US Grosseto six points, Novara Calcio three points, FC Crotone , FC Modena and Reggina Calcio two points as well as Ascoli Calcio and the for the 2012/13 season AS Varese deducted one point in 1910 .
