The 1999/2000 season of the series B was launched on August 29, 1999, ended on 11 June 2000. In addition Erstligaabsteiger Vicenza Calcio increased the Napoli , Brescia Calcio and Atalanta in the Serie A on. Three of the four newcomers to the league were immediately relegated. The fourth climber, AC Pistoiese , was able to narrowly prevail in two playout games against AC Cesena and thus celebrate relegation. The top scorer was Cosimo Francioso from CFC Genoa with 24 goals this season.
