The Serie B 2014-15 was the 83rd season of the second highest Italian league for football of Lords. It began on August 29, 2014 with the match between AC Perugia Calcio and Bologna FC and ended on May 22, 2015. From December 29, 2014 to January 16, 2015, it was interrupted by a winter break.

The AC Siena got no license for this season due to financial problems and had since been resolved. Since the association no substitutes from the Lega Pro 2014/15 had been determined, fell a starting place. The season should have been played with 21 teams and the schedule was published accordingly. After an appeal at CONI, a few days before the start of the tournament, this number was corrected back to 22, although it was only one day before the start of the tournament that it became clear that the club from Vicenza should be admitted.

Promotion play-offs

The third and fourth placed are set for the semi-finals of the promotion play-offs and meet there against the winners of the preliminary round. These are determined between the sixth and seventh and the fifth and eighth. In the preliminary round, individual games are played, in the semi-finals and finals, home and return games are played. In the event of a tie from both games, the better place in the table decides.

useful information

• On May 28, 2014, the Italian Football Association decided to abolish the so-called participation model (or co-ownership ), in which two clubs each hold 50% of the transfer rights to a player, for all clubs in Italian professional football . Despite the resistance of the first division association , the model will be abolished from the 2014/15 season, which means that no new participations may be closed, but current participations will remain.
