The Società Sportiva Calcio Bari shortly SSC Bari , is a 1908 established Italian football club from Bari , who is currently in the Series C plays. The home arena is the Stadio San Nicola , which holds around 58,300 spectators and was also the venue for the 1990 World Cup . Other names are I Biancorossi ("The White-Reds") and I Galletti ("The Gockel").

history

The association was founded on January 15, 1908. The soccer team was not formed until 1928. The club's coat of arms shows a black rooster head with a red crest. Therefore the association is also called Galletti . The club colors are white and red. AS Bari finished the 2008/09 season in Serie B in first place and played from 2009 until relegation in 2011 in Serie A. In March 2014, the club filed for bankruptcy . On May 2, 2014, the club was bought by former referee Gianluca Paparesta for two million euros and renamed FC Bari 1908 . The logo has also been replaced by a new one. The club colors were retained.

After another bankruptcy in 2018, the club restarted as SSC Bari in Serie D.
