Sauro Tomà (born December 4, 1925 in La Spezia , Italy , † April 10, 2018 ) was an Italian football player .

Sauro Tomà worked for Vogherese in Series B from 1945 to 1946 . He then spent a season with Spezia Calcio before moving to AC Turin , where the defender was in service from 1947 to 1951. In 1948 and 1949 he won the Italian championship with the team . Tomà, along with substitute goalkeeper Renato Gandolfi and midfielder Luigi Giuliano, was one of three players on the Grande Torino team who were not affected by the Superga plane crash on May 4, 1949 - he had not started the trip due to a knee injury. In the 1951/52 season he played for Brescia Calcio . He ended his career at AS Bari , where he played in Serie D and Serie C from 1953 to 1955 . In 1955 Tomà ended his career as a football player.
