Jaime Andrés Valdés Zapata (born January 11, 1981 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean football player , he plays on the position of midfielder .

Career

Valdés started his career with the Chilean club CD Palestino . In season 1999/00 he moved to AS Bari in the Italian Serie A . He stayed here until the 2004/05 season, when he moved to the traditional club Fiorentina , where he could not assert himself. In January 2005 he went to US Lecce . After three years there, he moved to Atalanta Bergamo in 2008 and to Sporting Lisbon in 2010 .

After one season he was loaned to FC Parma , whereby Sporting received Valery Boschinow in exchange . From Parma he returned to the Chilean Primera División in January 2014 and was elected Footballer of the Year in Chile in 2014 as the sixth player of the CSD Colo Colo .
