Francesco Flachi (born April 8, 1975 in Florence ) is a former Italian football player .

The striker began his career at Fiorentina , with whom he was promoted to Serie A in 1994 . In 1995/96 he won the Coppa Italia with Florence . He was then loaned to AS Bari and in 1998 to AC Ancona . In 1999 Flachi moved to Sampdoria Genoa , with whom he made promotion to Serie A in 2003. In September 2006 he was banned for two months for violating the gambling rules. In 2006/07 Genoa reached the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia and Flachi was the top scorer of the cup competition. At the end of May, however, he was banned for two years because of a positive doping test . After his suspension he played for FC Empoli and Brescia Calcio . In December 2009 he gave a positive doping test again. This time he was banned for twelve years.
