Giuseppe Gemiti (born May 3, 1981 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German soccer player with Italian roots. He is 20 times German U-21 national player .
Career
After the defensive midfielder was active in the youth teams of Rot-Weiss and Eintracht Frankfurt , he signed a professional contract with Eintracht for the 1999/2000 season. In his first professional season, Gemiti did not play in the Bundesliga , in the relegation season 2000/01 he played three times. In the coming season, the 1.76 meter tall left-footed player played twelve games in the second-highest division and scored two goals.
For the 2002/03 season , the Frankfurt finally moved to the Italian Serie A at Udinese Calcio . While he made 26 appearances in his first season, he only played four times in the first half of the season. Unhappy about this fact, the midfielder left Udine to play for the team from CFC Genoa in Serie B from the second half of the season. There he was in 50 league games until 2005 and scored three goals.
Since the 2005/06 season Gemiti was under contract with FC Modena . After he was not happy there either, he was loaned to Chievo Verona after the first half of the season. For the 2006/07 season , Gemiti moved to Piacenza Calcio in Serie B , also on loan.
For the 2007/08 season Gemiti did not return to Modena and was soon committed to Piacenza. Here, however, he only stayed a year before he moved back to his former club FC Modena for free. Played there until the end of the 2008/09 season. After he could not find a new club until January 2010, he joined the third division Novara Calcio in January 2010 . After two promotions with Novara in a row, Gemiti played in the 2011/12 season in Serie A. Also with AS Livorno Gemiti succeeded again in the summer of 2013 promotion to Serie A. A season after relegation from Serie A Gemiti left the club to join Bari FC in Serie B in 1908 . After his contract was not renewed there in the summer of 2016, Gemiti moved again, this time to the Lega Pro / A for the US Cremonese . After a year with Cremonese, Gemiti ended his career.
