Fabrizio Castori (born July 11, 1954 in San Severino Marche ) is an Italian football coach . After many years in the amateur field, he trained in the past among others AC Cesena , Ascoli Calcio , AS Varese 1910 and FC Carpi . Castori has been the responsible coach at FC Carpi since 2018.

Career

Fabrizio Castori began his coaching career in 1980 at the age of 26 with the Belfortese club. In the following years he coached some lower class teams, for example from 1985 to 1987 Camerino and from 1988 to 1991 Cerreto. Between 1992 and 1998 Castori coached the US Tolentino , which he led to Serie C2 during this time , but was relegated again from this league in his last year with the club. Castori spent the 1998/99 season at AC Lanciano 90 , which he led to promotion to Serie C2 and continued to win the Serie D championship. In the following year, he worked for ASD Castel di Sangro in the C1 series . In the summer of 2000 Fabrizio Castori returned to Lanciano and was coach of AC Lanciano 90 for the following three years. In his first season back at the club, he was promoted to Serie C1, where they could establish themselves in the following years. With fifth and seventh place in the 2001/02 and 2002/03 seasons, Castori's team was even closer to promotion to the second division than to relegation to the fourth division.

In 2003 Fabrizio Castori was signed by AC Cesena , which was then active in the same division as Lanciano. With the AC Cesena Castori rose in the first year third in the Serie C1 Girone A after won playoff games against Rimini Calcio and AC Lumezzane in the Serie B on. There the following year with fifteen place was relatively close to relegation. The 2005-06 Serie B was a more successful year for AC Cesena. The team finished sixth in Serie B after the end of the season, which entitles them to participate in the playoff games for promotion to Serie A. There, however, they were defeated in the semifinals to FC Turin with 1: 2 after the first and second leg. The 2006/07 season ended in fifteenth place in the league. Cesena started the next season badly and Fabrizio Castori was sacked after fourteen matchdays. His successor Giovanni Vavassori could not lead the traditional club out of the table cellar. After Vavassori had also been released, Fabrizio Castori returned to AC Cesena to prevent relegation. After this undertaking failed, Castori and Cesena finally parted ways at the end of the season.

In the 2008/09 season Fabrizio Castori was twice coach of Salernitana Calcio , but was released relatively quickly both times. His involvement with Piacenza Calcio 2009 was also short-lived. After thirteen match days of Serie B 2010/11 , Castori took over from Elio Gustinetti as coach at Ascoli Calcio and just managed to stay up with the club. After a few match days of the following season he was released again due to unsuccessfulness. For the 2012/13 season Fabrizio Castori was the new coach at AS Varese in 1910 , whom he led in seventh place and thus just missed the promotion playoffs. In 2013 he was under contract with Reggina Calcio for five match days , but could not achieve any notable success there.

In the summer of 2014 Castori Giuseppe Pillon inherited as coach of FC Carpi . With the club, which was only in its second year in the second division, Castori had surprisingly great success and achieved promotion to Serie A five game days before the end of the season with a goalless draw against FC Bari in 1908 - for the first time in Castori's career as well as in the club's history of FC Carpi. After six game days, the club was there with only two points bottom of the table, whereupon the separation from the coach took place. Just five game days later - his successor had not been able to lead Carpi away from the bottom of the table - Castori was signed again to achieve the sporting trend reversal. Castori's contract, which expired in 2017, was not extended. In October 2017, AC signed Cesena Castori for the third time in his career. After AC Cesena filed for bankruptcy in summer 2018, Castori returned to Carpi.
