Roberto Inglese (born November 12, 1991 in Lucera ) is an Italian football player .

Career

Delfino Pescara

Inglese played in his youth for the Delfino Pescara U-18 reserve team in the 2006/07 season. When the reserve team merged with the first team, Inglese moved into the first selection of the U-18s. However, he had to accept relegation with his team at the end of the season.

In 2010 he finally made the leap into the professional squad and played a total of six games in the Italian third division . With Pescara he succeeded in promotion in the 2009/10 season, even if he had little part in it with three appearances and one goal. After promotion to Serie B, Inglese was used on the first match day of the 2010/11 season against AC Siena , this should be his last appearance for Delfino Pescara.

Chievo Verona and rental stations

On August 28, 2010 he signed with Chievo Verona, but three days later he was loaned to AC Lumezzane , where he was able to gain match practice and experience.

Chievo then loaned Inglese a second time, this time to FC Carpi , the loan deal was signed on September 2, 2013. Inglese scored his first goal for Carpi on September 7, 2013 in a 2-0 away win against Spezia Calcio . With Carpi, Inglese finished the 2013/14 season in 12th place. In the 2014/15 season he was loaned to Carpi again. This time he made it to first place in Serie A with Carpi .

Inglese has been a regular contributor since his third return to Chievo. On February 12, 2017, he scored a hat trick in a 3-1 away win over Sassuolo Calcio .

On August 31, 2017, the southern Italian club SSC Napoli signed him due to his good performance, but immediately loaned him back to Chievo Verona. Naples paid a transfer fee of 10 million euros to Chievo.

National team

Inglese was nominated for the first time for the Italian national team by Gian Piero Ventura in October 2017 after Andrea Belotti was injured. In the World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Albania , however, Inglese remained without use. It has not been taken into account since then.
