Riccardo Saponara (born December 21, 1991 in Forlì , Italy ) is an Italian football player . The midfielder is currently under contract with Fiorentina .

Career

society

Saponara started playing football in the youth of Sammarinese and later played for Sporting Forlì. From 2007 he was part of the youth squad of Ravenna Calcio , in 2009 he moved to FC Empoli .

During his time at Ravenna Calcio, he made three competitive games for the club. However, his breakthrough came at FC Empoli, where he has since been part of the regular staff and scored 12 goals in 83 league games. He also failed in the Serie B play-offs for promotion with Empoli in the final at AS Livorno . On July 1, 2013, he moved to AC Milan .

On January 17, 2015, Saponara returned to FC Empoli on loan . Empoli signed Saponara firmly the following summer.

In January 2017, Saponara moved to league rivals Fiorentina .

National team

Saponara has been part of Italy's U-21s since 2011 and was also part of the vice-European championship team at the U-21 European Championship in Israel under Devis Mangia .
