The Stadio Oreste Granillo is a football stadium in the Calabrian city of Reggio Calabria , Italy . It is the home ground of the Urbs Reggina 1914 football club and offers 27,713 seats, 735 of which are VIP seats and 148 press seats. It consists of four individual tiers that are placed close to the playing field. Only the main stand has a roof.
history
The plant was built in the 1920s with financial help from the then President of Reggina Calcio, Giuseppe Vilardi . In 1997 Stadio Michele Bianchi was renamed Stadio Oreste Granillo. Oreste Granillo was an ex-president of Reggina, under whose leadership the promotion to Serie B succeeded for the first time .
As the team achieved ever greater successes, the number of spectators also increased, so the stadium was rebuilt in 1999.
