The Stadio Carlo Speroni is a football stadium in the Italian city of Busto Arsizio in the province of Varese the Region Lombardy . It is the home of the Aurora Pro Patria football club and named after the Italian long-distance runner and three-time Olympian Carlo Speroni (1895-1969) , who came from Busto Arsizio .
Although it has an athletics facility, it is currently only used for soccer games.
The stadium was built and opened in 1927 for the first promotion of Pro Patria in Italy's top division, the Prima Divisione , the forerunner of Serie A. Since then it has been renovated and expanded several times, most recently in July 2007.
