The Stadio Bruno Benelli is a football stadium in the Italian city of Ravenna , region Emilia-Romagna . The football club FC Ravenna (until 2013: Ravenna Calcio) plays its home games in the municipal sports facility.
history
After four years of construction, the facility was opened on September 25, 1966, originally with 6,000 seats. For the inauguration of the facility about four kilometers from the city center, Ravenna Calcio played against Juventus Turin on September 29 ; that ended with a 3-1 win for Juve . In 1993 Ravenna Calcio made it to Serie B , so that the Stadio Comunale Bruno Benelli was comprehensively renovated for the 1993/94 season and the capacity was doubled to around 12,000 seats. For this purpose, additional grandstands were set up on the back straight and the curves.
