The Stadio Romeo Neri is a football stadium with athletics track in the Italian city of Rimini , region Emilia-Romagna . The municipal stadium is the home of the AC Rimini 1912 football club . It was named in honor of the gymnast and three-time Olympic champion Romeo Neri . The stadium has a capacity of 9,768 spectators.
history
The sports facility was built between 1933 and 1934. It was extensively renovated for the first time in 1976 and adapted to the increased requirements of Series B in 2005 with further measures . The press stand is equipped with 52 seats, and there are also 50 disabled spaces.
On July 22, 1990, the Eurobowl IV , the final of the European Football League , between the Manchester Spartans and Legnano Frogs was played in the stadium. The English won 34:22 against Legnano.
The second semi-final of the European Women's Football Championship in 1993 took place in Rimini. On June 30, the Italian team won 4: 3 on penalties against Germany .
