The 1993 European Football Championship for women ( English : UEFA Women's Championship ) was the fifth game of the European continental championship in women's football and took place from June 29 to July 4 in a pure knockout system in Italy . All 23 registered national teams had to go through the qualification, because the host of the final tournament was only determined at short notice from among the four qualified teams after completion.
Norway won the final against hosts Italy 1-0 and became European champions for the second time since 1987 . Defending champion Germany took fourth place.

Norway moved into the final with a goal from Anne Nymark Andersen in the 63rd minute. 1,000 spectators saw the game in Sportilia. In the second semi-final, Heidi Mohr gave Germany a 1-0 lead after 56 minutes. Carolina Morace equalized seven minutes later. The game in Rimini saw 3,000 spectators.

Susan Mackensie's leading goal in the 10th minute was equalized by Maren Meinert after 31 minutes. Hanne Nissen (35th) and again Mackensie (42nd minute) ensured the victory of the Danish team. Until the preliminary round match against Norway at the EM 2013 , this was the only defeat a German team after regular time at the European Championships, until the 1: 2 loss also against Denmark in the EM 2017 the only defeat in a knockout round. The game was seen by 500 spectators.
