Santa Sofia is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4080 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Forlì-Cesena in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 33.5 kilometers south-southwest of Forlì and about 34 kilometers southwest of Cesena on the Parco nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna and on the Bidente .

Santa Sofia borders the province of Arezzo and the metropolitan city of Florence (both Tuscany).
