Predappio is a town (since 2006) with 6244 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna . The community is probably named after the Roman Appi family.
history
During the fascist era , a new settlement, Predappio Nuova, developed around Mussolini's birthplace , Dovia, which over time was given the name Predappio, while the old Predappio, which had been badly damaged by a mudslide shortly before, became Predappio Alta (Upper Predappio).

The districts are Baccanello, Dovia, Fiumana (independent municipality until 1925), Marsignano, Montemaggiore, Predappio Alta (seat of the municipal administration until 1927), San Cassiano, San Savino, Sant'Agostino, Santa Marina, Tontola and Trivella. The neighboring municipalities are Castrocaro Terme e Terra del Sole , Civitella di Romagna , Dovadola , Forlì , Galeata , Meldola and Rocca San Casciano .
