Sogliano al Rubicone is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 3181 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Forlì-Cesena in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 32.5 kilometers southeast of Forlì and about 15 kilometers south-southeast of Cesena and borders the province of Rimini .
history
The county of Sogliano was owned by a line of the Malatesta family from the 13th century until 1640 . It then fell to the Papal States . The Malatesta Castle was demolished in the 19th century.
