history

Church in Niederlistinge

Rhöda is the smallest and oldest district and was first mentioned between 820 and 840.

The village of Breuna was from 1341 a Hessian fiefdom of the Rabe von Calenbergs . In 1457 it was sold to Heinrich V von Gudenberg . After the death of the last Gudenberger in 1534, it passed to the Lords of Malsburg , who owned it until 1824.

Breuna and Rhöda have been an administrative community for 200 years. In 2007 the town of Breuna celebrated its 750th anniversary.

Until 2014 the place was a recognized climatic health resort , since then it has been a resort .

On December 31, 1971, as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent municipality of Wettesingen was incorporated. Niederlistingen and Oberlistingen were added on August 1, 1972 by virtue of state law.
