The Gutsbezirk Reinhardswald (also Forstgutsbezirk Reinhardswald is called) as Gutsbezirk an unincorporated community in northern Hesse Kassel district ( Germany ). It is 184.16 km²; 180.81 km² of this is forest. As the largest of the three remaining Hessian manor districts, it covers almost the entire area of the Reinhardswald, which is around 200 km² in size . There is still the Kaufunger Wald estate in northern Hesse and the Spessart estate in southern Hesse .

administration

According to Section 153, Paragraph 1, Letter c of the Hessian Municipal Code , the ordinance on non- parish land and estate districts of November 15, 1938 continues to apply. The Reinhardswald estate district is a forest estate district within the meaning of Section 4 (2) of the ordinance; therefore the responsible state forest officer is land manager. The district is therefore administered by the Reinhardshagen forestry manager. This acts as mayor, whereby he is not elected but appointed by the district. The main tasks of the mayor include collecting taxes, disposing of rubbish, looking after the residents, tasks of the local police, the registry office as well as public affairs.

structure

According to the Hessian State Office for Soil Management and Geoinformation, the manor district is divided into seven districts : the Oberförstereien Gahrenberg, Gottsbühren, Hofgeismar, Karlshafen, Veckerhagen and Hombressen as well as the Trendelburg district (Gmk.-Nr. 61627).

Oddities

According to the Hessian State Statistical Office , the manor district is uninhabited. However, two residents live in the area who, a few hundred meters from the old town of Hann. Mündens away, operate the Tillyschanze restaurant next to the observation tower of the same name. The state border of Hesse and Lower Saxony runs between the restaurant and the tower. Both people are registered with the forest office in Reinhardshagen , which is responsible for administrative matters. In financial matters, the two residents have to go to the tax office in Hofgeismar , in regulatory restaurant matters the regulatory authority in Kassel . The wastewater is diverted to Lower Saxony. The responsible polling station is in Reinhardshagen, district Veckerhagen. Why the manor district is still listed as uninhabited is unknown.

Since the manor district did not have a postcode until December 2015 , it was not delivered by post. The two residents set up a post office box in Hannoversch Münden . In particular, the curiosity of the missing postcode was the subject of a small inquiry in the Hessian state parliament. In December 2015, the Tillyschanze received, although it is located in the manor district and therefore not part of the urban area of Hann. Münden, the address Bierweg 1, 34346 Hann. Münden and since then it has also been supplied by post.
