The Stadio Tonino Benelli is a football stadium in the Italian port city of Pesaro , Marche region . It is the main sports complex of the capital of the province of Pesaro and Urbino and is used by the Vis Pesaro football club . It offers 4898 seats.

history

The initiator of the construction was Romolo Rifelli, building contractor and association president, who had the facility built. It was inaugurated in 1927. Vis Pesaro moved from the site at Baia Flaminia to her new home, where she still plays her home games today. Originally a cycling track enclosed the playing field made of natural grass . The sports facility has two longitudinal stands, which are equipped with red and white plastic seats. The floodlights on four masts in the stadium corners illuminate the football stadium. The guest fans will find their seats on the partly covered grandstand. Another soccer field is right behind her. The fans of Vis Pesaro have their seats in the open-air stand opposite. The tubular steel grandstand was set up in front of the old concrete stands. The stadium is named after the Italian motorcycle racer Antonio "Tonino" Benelli (1905–1937), who was killed in a traffic accident. Tonino Benelli was one of the six brothers who founded Garage Benelli in Pesaro in 1911 , from which the motorcycle manufacturer Benelli developed.
