The Koettlitz Firn Field is a roughly square and 11 km wide firn field in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the southern Royal Society Range it is at the head of the Koettlitz Glacier . To the west and south it is bounded by Mount Talmadge , Mount Rees and Mount Cocks , to the east by Mount Morning .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1994 after the glacier of the same name. Its namesake is Reginald Koettlitz (1861-1916), doctor and botanist on the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
