Mount Cocks is a 2440 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises in the Royal Society Range at the head of the Koettlitz Glacier , where it forms part of the watershed between this and the lower Skelton Glacier .
He was discovered during the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott . It is named after Edward Lygon Somers Cocks (1858–1923), then honorary treasurer of the Royal Geographical Society .
