Mauro Boselli (born May 22, 1985 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player . The striker is currently under contract with Club León .

Club career

Mauro Boselli started his career at the small club All Boys in Buenos Aires , where he played through several youth departments. It didn't take long until the Boca Juniors from the Argentine capital became aware of Mauro and he switched. On July 6, 2003, he made his debut for the Boca Juniors in the game against Rosario Central . For the 2005/06 season, was awarded to Spain where he played for Atlético Malagueño , the second team of FC Málaga . After a rather disappointing season in the Segunda División , he returned to Argentina . At the Boca Juniors he was slowly gaining a foothold behind Martín Palermo and Rodrigo Palacio . In 2008 he moved to Estudiantes de La Plata and started there with eight goals in 15 games. In his second season in La Plata , he won the Copa Libertadores with Estudiantes and was also the tournament's top scorer. In total, Mauro scored 50 goals for Estudiantes de La Plata.

On June 29, 2010 he signed a contract with the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic and was able to score two goals in the first test match against Östersunds FK , the game ended 3-2 for Wigan. But after he was unable to convince throughout autumn 2010 and could only score one goal in the League Cup against Swansea City , he was awarded to the Italian Serie A club Genoa FC for spring 2011 . At Genoa, he should compensate for the departure of top striker Luca Toni to Juventus Turin . After the end of the 2011/12 season, he left the club and went back to Estudiantes on loan until May 2012.

For the 2012/13 season he started again at Wigan . In February 2013 he moved on loan to US Palermo . At the end of the Italian season, Boselli was sold by Wigan. He went to Mexico , where he signed a contract with Club León . After two championships and over 100 goals, 104 in the league alone, Boselli left Mexico at the end of 2018. His new home was Brazil .

He signed a contract with Corinthians São Paulo in early 2019.

National team

In 2005 Mauro was part of the Argentine U-20 national team, which was third at the Campeonato Sudamericano . On September 30, 2009, he also fixed his debut for the senior team when he came on in the game against Ghana in the 57th minute by Diego Maradona .
