Ilona Ostner

Ilona Ostner (born September 13, 1947 ) is a German sociologist .

After graduating from the Elsa Brandström Girls' High School in Munich , Ostner studied sociology and (minor subjects) philosophy , psychology and pedagogy at the University of Munich ( MA ) from 1967 to 1974 . In 1978 the doctorate followed with the dissertation job and housework. The work of women in our society . 1989 habilitation them at the University of Hannover ( Venia legendi : Sociology).

From 1974 to 1983 Ostner was a research assistant at the University of Munich, from 1983 to 1989 professor for social work at the University of Applied Sciences Fulda , from 1990 to 1994 professor for general sociology - with special attention to the sociology of gender relations at the University of Bremen . From 1994 to 2015 Ostner was Professor of Comparative Social Policy at the University of Göttingen . She is married to the social scientist Horst Kern .
