Killingen is a suburb of Röhlingen , a district of Ellwangen .

history

The village was first mentioned around 1140 as Cunlingin . In the 12th century the monastery Ellwangen owned. The barons of Woellwarth also owned the place. In the 14th and 15th centuries the place was the seat of the Lords of Killingen , who lived at Killingen Castle . This local noble family was related to the Lords of Röhlingen .
