Allocation rules

A jury from the journalists' union will decide who is to be awarded the Robert Hochner Prize. The proposal for an award can be submitted by an editorial team or an individual (the recipient can also propose himself). Only professional journalists are eligible for the award, whereby the audience should be predominantly Austrian. The proposed work must be submitted on VHS, CD or DVD and copies must be enclosed. The Robert Hochner Prize is not a prize for life's work, but an outstanding journalistic achievement over the past year. If there is no award-worthy work in a year, the award can also be omitted for a year. The Austrian Federal President usually presents the award at the same time as the Kurt Vorhofer Award is presented .
