Michael Katz

Michael Katz (* 1954 in Villach , Carinthia ) is an Austrian film producer and film production manager who has worked on most of Michael Haneke's films.

Life

After completing his degree in economics at the University of Vienna , Katz has been working for Wega Film since 1985 , of which he has also been a co-owner since 2008. His exact field of activity in this film production company includes the areas of story development, financing, main shooting and post-production for feature films and television films. From 2012 to 2014 Michael Katz taught as a lecturer at the BFI Vienna University of Applied Sciences for film, TV and media production. Since 2011 he has been a member of the project commission of the Austrian Film Institute .

His greatest success was the film Love , for which he was nominated for an Oscar for best film in 2013.

Katz lives in Lower Austria .
