action
After ten years in prison, Ertan returns home and faces closed doors. Mikail is fifteen, dropped out of school, is a dealer and wants to make quick money as a rapper. In the course of the plot it turns out that Ertan is the father of Mikail. Since he was already in serious problems at the time, his father promised to help him. It is also known, for example, that Ertan used to be the boss of the gang that Mikail now works for. Mikail has a girlfriend and is dying to get his rap album out. As a result, he misses a party and his girlfriend sleeps with his best friend. In a subsequent brawl in a park, Mikail injures him badly and believes he is dead. He calls his father, who orders him to go home and instead of Mikail turns himself in to the police. But only shortly afterwards, Mikail confesses to the investigator that he injured his best friend in the park. One learns that the injured person is now out of danger. The film ends openly.
Reviews
"With his second feature film" Cracks in Concrete ", Umut Dag delivers a powerful social drama that shows facets of Vienna that have never been seen on the screen"
“The great strength of Umut Dağ's intense rap melodrama lies in its almost documentary closeness to its protagonists. With a dynamic camera he follows the youngsters through the clubs, to rap concerts or just home. In particular, the outstanding Murathan Muslu as Ertan relativizes the son's tough pose with the nuances of his facial expression "
“Dag's film is not just another lament that follows magazine articles that often state that there is no way out. The tone of voice is mangy, values such as "honor" and "masculinity" count more than education or equality, and brutality is omnipresent. "
