action

Caretaker Otto Huber has never been drawn into the distance, but suddenly he wins a trip to Africa in a competition. To his great regret, the price cannot be exchanged. His daughter Anna is enthusiastic about the idea of not spending her holidays at home with dad like every year. (Your mother, Otto's wife, died years ago). Anna prevails and Otto embarks on the adventure. Even the flight to Africa takes him quite a bit, and there he suffers from the heat, the animals and, above all, the inedible food. The fellow travelers are also a nuisance: there is Elvira, who talks incessantly, her companion Heinz-Hermann takes photos without a break and the charming John soon turns out to be a profitable art dealer. But Anna is happy.

Then events precipitate: The tour group visits a small village where the king of the tribe recently died. A traditional ritual is supposed to identify his successor. While John is already secretly preparing the king's takeover of power with the king's corrupt son, from which he expects profitable business, the voices of the ancestors say otherwise. The Sangoma , the traditional medicine man, throws ritual bones to determine the successor. By chance they land at Otto's feet, and the intelligent and beautiful princess of the tribe, Fenda, sees the chance.

Otto panics, but by the time he comes back to Vienna, his life and his attitude towards Africa and the people there have changed significantly.
