Fraternity Hysteria

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The fraternity Hysteria (" Academic Burschenschaft Hysteria zu Wien " ) is an association and left-wing , feminist project in Austria that satirically picks up on the rituals of fraternities .

Demeanor and style

The rumored founder, Archduchess Maria Leopoldine of Austria, Princess of Brazil in negotiations for the independence of Brazil, 1822

The fraternity was founded in January 2016, in the media self-portrayal, however, the year 1810 and Leopoldine of Austria as the founder are disseminated, which means that the foundation would come before the actual original fraternity . A screaming hyena on a black background was chosen as the heraldic animal . The Hysteria uses a red cap as a " lid ", which is supposed to remind of the hair color of its founder. Its members wear the colors black-white-red.

The fraternity Hysteria appears in public orderly and in jerks and with couleur names. In principle, it remains closed to men. She preaches matriarchy and the “protection of men”, wants to restrict the right to vote for men and advocates a female and transgender quota of 80% in public office. Their statutes and duties as well as their fraternity song are written down in the book "Mein Mampf". In addition, members demand active treason.

The hysteria differs from girls' associations and women's associations in its positions and adherence to the etymological roots of the term fraternity . In addition, they fight the scale length .

The Hysteria is registered under the name Burschenschaft Hysteria in the ZVR . The writer Stefanie Sargnagel acts as chairwoman.

Actions

In January 2016, Hysteria first appeared public on a Facebook page. She was particularly noticeable for radical demands, such as the restriction of men's suffrage, that men should stay out of politics and the withdrawal of men's football as a “real sport”. Instead, the men should compete in tight jerseys and very tight shorts.

As part of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2016 , the Hysteria appeared in public for the first time when she made the hall protection for Stefanie Sargnagel when she received her BKS Bank Audience Award. She also acted as a hall guard for Elfriede Jelinek's play Die Schutzbefohlenen , the performance of which in the Audimax of the University of Vienna had previously been stormed by the right-wing extremist group of Identitarians and was therefore moved to the Vienna City Hall .

In October she claimed space for herself while taking a stroll around the couleur of the student fraternities . In September 2016, the Hysteria symbolically carried the patriarchy to its grave on a funeral march through Vienna's Prater Hauptallee .

She declared the Vienna Academic Ball in February 2017 a “Hysteria Ball for the Education and Protection of Men” and unveiled a banner with her heraldic animal.

In March 2017, the Hysteria took over its own booth in Ottakring . The cellar room, formerly known as Fritz-Stüber -Heim, was previously a meeting place for right-wing and right-wing extremist groups. The takeover was illustrated with pictures on Facebook that show the hysteria in a fight with men. In the end, the men are swept out of the pub.

Reactions

The Corps Hansea zu Wien (formerly part of the KSCV , now excluded) dedicated the hashtag #linkeweiberausknocken to the Hysteria . With the hashtag, the corps, to which at least three identitarians belong, showed its solidarity with a hate page spread on Facebook at the time, which published threats of violence against anti-fascist activists . The Facebook post was later removed without comment.

A similar association has existed in Munich since November 20, 2017 , the Molestia fraternity , which acts on the Austrian model and makes comparable demands. She made her first appearance with a torchlight march on the Munich Hall of Fame . Other projects from Germany and Austria that have come together in the "Korporationsring" are called as follows:
