Marvin Kren (* 1980 in Vienna ) is an Austrian director .

Marvin Kren grew up as the son of actress Brigitte Kren . Kren gained experience beforehand through assistance in the areas of direction, camera and production as well as as an actor. He completed a FH degree in European business and corporate management in Vienna. His short film Schautag is the end of his two-year postgraduate course in directing at the Hamburg Media School .
After completing his studies, he only directed short films before celebrating his feature film debut in 2010 as part of the ZDF's small television game with the horror film Rammbock, which became known to a larger audience.
His second horror film Blood Glacier met with a wide response and was awarded at various film festivals. It was screened at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival in 2014 and won several prizes at the Austrian Film Prize (best lead actor, best mask, best sound design). The film was nominated for Best Editing.
He shot his segment Roulette for the second part of the international production The ABCs of Death with André Hennicke , Alma Leiberg and Andreas Döhler in the leading roles.
So far he has shot four "Tatort" episodes for ARD . The crime film Mordkommission Berlin 1 was commissioned by Sat.1 and was nominated for the German Television Award 2016 .
Kren directed the first season of the series 4 Blocks with Frederick Lau . In the second season he is executive producer .
