Aleksandar Petrović (actor)

Aleksandar Petrović (* 1976 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor and screenwriter with Serbian roots.

Life

Aleksandar Petrović began studying after graduating from high school . He made his film debut in 2005 without having completed any classical acting training with the short film Skrypt by Peter Koller, who then cast him as Juliet for the horror film Auf bösem Boden as Romeo alongside Birgit Stauber . For his portrayal of Romeo he received an honorable mention at the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival .

Together with Arman T. Riahi and Faris Endris Rahoma , he developed the script for the television series Neue Wiener in 2011 . After the production company went bankrupt, the idea was implemented as the movie Die Migrantigen , in which he also played the lead role alongside Rahoma. The film was awarded the audience prize at the Max Ophüls Film Festival , among others, and at the 2018 Romy Awards, it received the Romy in the Best Screenplay category for the film . The premiere of the stage version took place in September 2019 at the Wiener Kammerspiele of the theater in der Josefstadt .
