Ilse Helbich

Ilse Helbich (born October 22, 1923 in Vienna ) is an Austrian publicist and writer .

Life

Ilse Helbich grew up in Vienna, did her doctorate in German and worked as a publishing clerk. She was married for over three decades and is the mother of five children. She worked for various daily newspapers and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation , for which she wrote numerous radio programs .

In 1985 Ilse Helbich acquired the Alte Post in the center of Schönberg am Kamp , which it renovated. The history of this house, interwoven with autobiographical elements, was written down by Ilse Helbich, who only turned to prose in the late 1980s, in the novel Das Haus (2009).

Ilse Helbich lives in Schönberg am Kamp and in Vienna .
