Adolf Krischanitz
Adolf Krischanitz (born May 26, 1946 in Schwarzach im Pongau , Salzburg) is an Austrian architect , university professor and furniture designer .
Life
Adolf Krischanitz studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology from 1965 to 1972 and has been working as a freelance architect in Vienna and Zurich since 1979 . In 1970, together with Angela Mareiter and Otto Kapfinger, he founded the Missing Link group of architects , which realized artistic objects, graphics, actions, performances and experimental films.
In 1979 he was one of the founders of the magazine UmBau of the Austrian Society for Architecture and took over the chairmanship of this society in 1982. As a member and finally President of the Vienna Secession , between 1991 and 1995, he was responsible for the design and organization of numerous exhibitions of contemporary art.
Teaching
From 1988 to 1989, Krischanitz was visiting professor at the Technical University of Munich and at the summer academies in Karlsruhe (1990), Naples (1994/95) and Vienna (1996). From 1992 to 2011 he was Professor of Design and Urban Renewal at the Berlin University of the Arts .
Judging activities
Krischanitz was chairman of several implementation competitions - USZ core area, new building for the first major stage of the overall renovation of the university hospital; Expansion of the Sprengel Museum Hannover and the study contract for the conversion of the transit warehouse at Dreispitz.
