The Meili, Peter & Partner Architekten AG is a Swiss architecture firm . The architects Markus Peter and Patrick Rinderknecht, as participating partners, operate offices in Zurich and Munich . Marcel Meili was also co-founder and eponymous partner.

Marcel Meili and Markus Peter founded the 'Meili & Peter Architects AG' office in Zurich in 1987 .

Marcel Meili was born in Küsnacht in 1953. After studying architecture at the ETH Zurich, he worked as an assistant at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture. From 1983 to 1987 he worked in the offices of Dolf Schnebli and Mario Campi . Together with Markus Peter he started his own business in 1987. From 1987 to 1999 he also taught at the International Summer Academy in Berlin, the Zurich University of Design, Harvard University Cambridge USA and the ETH Zurich. In 1999 he was appointed full professor at the ETH Zurich. Together with Jacques Herzog , Pierre de Meuron , Roger Diener and Christian Schmid, he founded Studio Basel, the institute for the contemporary city in Basel. Marcel Meili died on March 18, 2019.
Markus Peter was born in Zurich in 1957 . After training as a civil engineering draftsman, he was a guest student of philosophy at the Free University of Berlin. In 1984 he graduated in architecture from the Technical University of Winterthur. Together with Marcel Meili, he started his own business in 1987. In 1990 Markus Peter also became a lecturer at the Summer Academy in Karlsruhe. After a visiting professorship at the ETH Zurich, he was appointed full professor for architecture and construction at the ETHZ in 2002.

Most of her projects were the successes of national and international competitions and public tenders . In addition to different buildings, her work also includes some more experimental works such as bridges, movable information boxes, stage sets and a film. A first part of the complete work is documented in the book Marcel Meili, Markus Peter 1987-2008 in a German and an English edition. A Munich office was founded in 2007 on the occasion of the inner-city Hofstatt project as a subsequent use of the former area of ​​the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich.

Since 2013, Meili, Peter GmbH , Munich, has been independently managed by Florian Hartmann, Andreas Müsseler, Oliver Noak and Lisa Yamaguchi, together with Marcel Meili.

Two specific business units have been operating within Meili & Peter Architekten AG since 2015. Markus Peter leads the project work in the existing business area. Marcel Meili was the head of the "studio", where the focus is on investigations and tasks between theoretical and practical problems. It is also intended to carry out mainly smaller construction projects in cooperation with friendly offices.

In 2016, 'Meili, Peter & Partner Architects AG' was founded together with Patrick Rinderknecht .
