The Golden City Hall Man is an award from the City of Vienna . Unlike awards such as the multi-level badge of honor for services to the State of Vienna , which require an official decision, the award of the Golden City Hall Man is decided by the Mayor of Vienna . There are no specific criteria for the selection of recipients, for example, it could be prominent guests from abroad or well-deserved anniversaries.
The gilded statuette, of which there are two sizes that differ by a few centimeters, is the image of the town hall man standing on the middle tower of the neo-Gothic Vienna City Hall .
As part of the 60th anniversary of the Wiener Stadthalle , Mayor Michael Ludwig presented the Glass Town Hall Man to Christian Kolonovits and Stadthallen boss Wolfgang Fischer in June 2018 .
