Maya Hakvoort (born September 19, 1966 in Nijmegen ) is a Dutch musical actress .

Life

Hakvoort studied for a year singing at the Conservatory of Maastricht , then they moved to the small art academy in Amsterdam as well as on the local drama school De Trap before they took the musical practice and collected in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Belgium experience they, for the first time performed alone, excerpts from her solo program “Maya Goes Solo” on New Year's Eve 2004. In 2005 and 2006 Hakvoort toured Austria, Italy, Japan and Germany with her solo program.

On October 12, 2007, the premiere of her solo program “In My Life” took place in Vienna , which she performed in May / June 2008 with the pianist Aaron Wonesch in Japan after concerts in Austria . Before that (May 16 to 28) Hakvoort sang a concert version of Elisabeth with the United Theaters in Tokyo and Osaka . Her third solo program, "Mayas Musical Life", premiered on February 27, 2009. In 2010 she played the main role of Victoria Grant in the musical Victor / Victoria in Stockerau near Vienna. Her fourth solo program, "This is my Life", in which she was accompanied by a 10-man orchestra under the direction of Rens Newland , premiered on January 30, 2011.

On April 5, 2011 she was honored with the Golden Merit of the Republic of Austria . From October 2011 she appeared on stage in St. Gallen as Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca .

In October 2013 she could be heard as Madame Giry in the concert version of “Love never Dies” at the Ronacher Theater in Vienna. In 2014 she played Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard at the Summer Festival in Tecklenburg. In 2015 she appeared here as Grizabella in Cats . In 2016 she played Diana Goodman in Next to Normal at the Dortmund Opera House and the old Gina in the musical Don Camillo & Peppone at the St. Gallen Theater; She also played this role in 2017 at the Ronacher in Vienna.

At a gala on her 50th birthday in Vienna Raimund Theater , she was following the presentation by the City Councilor for Culture Andreas Mailath-Pokorny of the Golden Rathausmann presented. In November 2016 she was honored by the Governor of Lower Austria, Erwin Pröll, with the Great Decoration of Honor for Services to the State of Lower Austria .
