Alfred Grazioli

Alfred Grazioli (born November 1, 1940 in Basel ; † April 12, 2018 ) was a Swiss architect and university professor .

Life

Alfred Grazioli trained as a draftsman in Basel from 1957 to 1961 . From 1966 to 1970 he studied architecture at the Ulm School of Design and at the Ecole d'Architecture of the University of Geneva (EAUG). Since 1971 he has been a freelance architect in Basel and Berlin . From 1975 to 1994 he and Peter Degen ran the Argos Architektur + Entwicklungsplanung office in Basel and Berlin. In Berlin he has been running the Grazioli Muthesius architectural office for architecture and urban development with Wieka Muthesius since 2000, with locations in Berlin, Zurich and Rome . Since 1992 he has been a member of the Association of Swiss Architects .

From 1970 to 1972 he taught at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology EPFL in Lausanne and at the Ecole d'Architecture of the University of Geneva (EAUG). From 1972 to 2007 he was Professor of Design and Urban Planning at the Berlin University of the Arts .

Alfred Grazioli died in April 2018 at the age of 77. The funeral service and burial took place on May 4, 2018 at the state-owned cemetery Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend .
