Susanne Lücke-David

Susanne Lücke-David (born November 15, 1933 in Ustí , Czechoslovakia ) is a German art historian and non-fiction author.

Life

Lücke-David was born in 1933 as the daughter of the mechanical engineers Rudolf David and Margarete David-Stelzig. She studied art history, archeology and musicology at the University of Kiel up to her doctorate in 1962. She then worked at the Schleswig-Holstein State Office for Monument Preservation, and later at the Bavarian State Painting Collections . In 1971/72 she had a teaching position at the University of Toronto in Canada, where her husband had been professor of art history since 1969. She then worked as a freelance book author and journalist. She began her journalistic work in 1974 as a columnist for ZEITmagazin. She also worked as a translator from English and French for various publishers. In the 1990s she wrote articles for the local section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung (Münchner Latest News). Since 2013 she has been running the blog "Nestbeschmutzer". She was married to the art historian Hans-Karl Lücke (1927–2009), with whom she has two sons.

Lücke- David lives in Schondorf am Ammersee .
