Margherita Spiluttini

Margherita Spiluttini (* 1947 in Schwarzach im Pongau , Salzburg ) is an Austrian photographer .

Life

Residential building

Margherita Spiluttini is the daughter of a master builder, was trained as a medical-technical assistant and worked in nuclear medicine at the Vienna General Hospital. In 1972 their daughter was born.

In 1973, Margherita Spiluttini married the architect Adolf Krischanitz , who was almost the same age and was born in the same town, but used her maiden name again from the 1990s.

From 1981 to 2014 she worked as a freelance photographer and was best known for her architectural photography. She has been preventing multiple sclerosis from taking photos since 2014 . She uses a wheelchair.

The artist, who lives in Vienna, was a member of the board of directors of the Vienna Secession 1995–1999 and 2008–2011.

Teaching

From 2000 to 2002 she held a visiting professorship at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz and previously lectured at the University of Applied Arts Vienna .

Spiluttini handed over her papers to the Architekturzentrum Wien and in 2016 dealt with the viewing of her archive, which contains around 120,000 slides .
