Kerstin Kromminga

Kerstin Kromminga (born April 2, 1970 in Leer ) is a German clown and presenter, radio journalist and author.

Life

Kromminga grew up in a small East Frisian village in an area where a lot of Low German was spoken. At the age of eight, she made the decision: “Dor wants ick ok to take part!” - and she was able to do the same with her grandmother in Rheiderland .

She studied politics, journalism and Spanish in Hamburg, Bradford (England) and Hanover. In addition, as a state-recognized clown, she completed an acting training with a focus on clown theater and comedy at a private school in Hanover. For several years she played children's and youth plays and tabloid comedies - also in Low German.

She started working as a radio journalist in 1994 - first for Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), then for many years at Radio Bremen . There she was a reporter, editor and presenter, u. a. on the Low German broadcast Dat Sünndagsradio . Low German stories for the NDR series Hör mal 'n prayen to has been writing and reading them since 2000.

In the Low German feature film Apparatspott - Gerangel in Ruum un Tied from 2003 she played the role of Ulla Alglöv.

On May 16, 2004 she succeeded Gerlind Rosenbusch in the television program Talk op Platt , a talk show in Low German that was produced and broadcast by NDR from 1982 to 2006 with more than 150 episodes. At the side of Falko Weerts , she interviewed regional guests as a "Utfragerin" (presenter) until 2006 and guided the program.

She is listed as an author at the Hamburg-based Quickborn publishing house , which specializes in Low German literature.

From 2008 to 2016 Kromminga worked as a press spokeswoman for the Arbeiterwohlfahrt, AWO Bezirksverband Hannover e. V.

She is currently a Clinic Clown in the Clinic-Clown Verein Hannover and an independent PR consultant.

Kerstin Kromminga lives in Hanover, is married and has two children.
