The Gottesackerplateau , one with nature standing karst landscape , is located on the northwest border of the Kleinwalsertals near the High Ifens .

The Gottesacker is divided into the Lower ( 1858  m above sea  level ) and the Upper Divine Sack walls ( 2033  m above sea level ). The massif of the Obere Gottesackers is - viewed from Riezlern - also called "Sonnenberg". The plateau is home to rare plant species .

Geologically , the Gottesacker plateau consists of the Schrattenkalk from the Cretaceous period, which belongs to the Helvetic region . Precipitation and snowmelt have carved out so-called carts on the plateau surface. The water runs underground to karst springs , which in turn flow over the Subersach into Lake Constance and the Rhine . Karst numerous caves like the developed Schneckenloch cave or the 77-meter-deep vertical cave Hölloch .
