Accordingly, Subersach is simply called clean river . In fact, the Subersach apparently has particularly clear water.

Others

Several striking bridges cross the Subersach valley between Lingenau and Egg-Großdorf: The old Gschwendtobel bridge is a wooden bridge from the 19th century; Elsewhere there has been a wire walkway over the river for pedestrians since 1901 and the new Gschwendtobel Bridge has also crossed between these two places since 1982.

At the end of the Thirty Years' War, the Subersach valley was the scene of the Battle of Sweden , in which the women of the men who had gone to war opposed the Swedes advancing from the north. They surprised the foot soldiers with primitive weapons and agricultural implements and confused them with white robes, so that the attackers finally gave up their plan to conquer the central Bregenzerwald.
