Saint-Jean-de-Muzols is located about 75 kilometers south of Lyon on the banks of the Rhone . The Doux River limits the municipality to the south. Saint-Jean-de-Muzols is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lemps in the north and west, Gervans in the northeast, Crozes-Hermitage in the east, Tain-l'Hermitage in the southeast, Tournon-sur-Rhône in the south and Saint-Barthélemy-le- Plain in the southwest.
The Saint-Joseph wine is produced in the Côtes du Rhône wine-growing region , to which the municipality also belongs .
history
Originally Muzolium was a Roman river port on the Rhône. In the Middle Ages, the parish was formed from a commandant office of the Order of Malta.
